How RingCentral Virtual Switchboard Extensions Work
RingCentral’s flexible extension structure allows you to configure your system to act just like an expensive company system. Useful for directing callers where they need to go, you can create and configure the extensions you need, transferring callers to employees and departments disbursed around the country—and the world.
Each extension includes full-featured fax and voicemail functionality. Access messages via your email inbox and online account, or listen to your voicemail over the phone. RingCentral can also be configured to alert to you to new messages through the Call Controller, a free application included with every account, and via text messages to your mobile.
You can also configure extensions to play announcements (such as a holiday message) or take messages only.
