How RingCentral Virtual Switchboard Phone System Work

State-of-the-art messaging and stage-by-stage options will be presented to your callers. Each RingCentral system user will have unmatched functionality and flexibility to make their job responsibilities a lot easier and more manageable.

Answering the Call
Your caller will be greeted by an IVR auto-receptionist with a professional recording (default or record your own). Callers will be given options such as “Press 1 for service, press 2 for sales consultants, press 3 for account information…” or Press 1 for Ben Knight, press 2 for Elizabeth Hudson…” or “If you know the number of the party…”

Incoming Faxes
Incoming faxes are detected and accepted automatically. There is never a busy signal. Faxes are sent to your email inbox or your online account, per your setup preference.

Extensions
When your caller inputs an extension that he/she needs to contact, the call will go to those numbers you select for that extension. These phone numbers can be located anywhere, though they will appear that they were all in the same area. You can even set up extensions to deliver company announcements or Fax on Demand.

Extension owner abilities
Being the extension owner, you can identify your callers through advanced Call Whisper technology. You can also route your callers to other numbers or a message mailbox.
