Call controls

Use our Active Call Controls to manage multiple features on your business phone. Use the soft keys to mute/unmute, hold, record, call transfer, Call Flip, Call Park, add to conference and more. Use the ‘Add-on’ capability to add up to six participants to your conference call with the touch of a button.

Call handling

Set up direct routing rules for incoming calls during and after business hours. Transfer live calls between phones without interruption with the Call Flip feature. Choose what appears on your phone during inbound calls – either the incoming call ID or the phone number.

Call queues

Route calls to multiple extensions and enable a queue overflow feature to manage heavy call traffic. Support up to 25 calls-in-waiting on your phone system. Designate up to 15 dedicated call queue managers.

IVR

What is RingCentral for Microsoft Teams?

How to resolve a missing dial pad for users on Microsoft Teams?

Usually, the dial pad should appear on Microsoft Teams if the user has the correct phone system licence and the device is configured to make phone calls. However, even if configuration is completed, sometimes the dial pad does not show up.

  • Users should have their phone numbers registered in the Office 365 portal.

It’s important to verify that the service has indeed assigned a phone number to a Team's user. It’s anticipated that Microsoft will migrate this functionality into the new Teams portal in due course.

  • The user doesn’t have a phone system licence

You should assign licences to your users for features like audio conferencing and phone system. The service configuration means you will be using on-premises PSTN connectivity for hybrid users, so you only need to assign a phone system licence, and there’s no need to assign a Calling Plan.

How to set up RingCentral Cloud PBX for Microsoft Teams?

Use the one-click feature to easily setup a cloud PBX system for Microsoft Teams. During setup, you will receive two prompts asking if RingCentral Cloud PBX can access your Office 365 account. An initial sync is started between RingCentral Cloud PBX and the office 365 platform. This process can take several minutes, depending on your connectivity.

 

Once this stage is complete, a sync button will appear in the top right of your screen, displaying a green tick. You can now start adding your users.

How to add cloud telephony to Microsoft Teams?

To enable cloud telephony to Microsoft teams, you can either add Microsoft Calling Plans, which include a user’s phone number and domestic or international minutes, or via direct routing for Microsoft Teams.

 

Direct Routing connects Microsoft’s phone system to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) via an existing or new third-party telephony provider. The service provider offers the necessary cloud infrastructure to route inbound and outbound calls to Microsoft Teams.

How to schedule a meeting using RingCentral for Microsoft Teams?

It’s now easier than ever to schedule a meeting with your contacts using RingCentral for Microsoft Teams. Head to the RingCentral chatbot and open the Contacts page. Select a contact from the list that you want to add to the meeting, then click Schedule. You can also edit the meeting settings as required before clicking Schedule.

How to start a video meeting on RingCentral for Microsoft Teams?

Instantly launch a video meeting on RingCentral for Microsoft Teams by using the Microsoft Teams bot. Just click on the RingCentral message extension in the chat, then click Video to launch an instant video call. You can also schedule a video meeting – click Schedule in the team chat message extension, choose the participants, input the meeting title, set date and time zone, and click Schedule to send the meeting update to the chat.
