A company merger introduces disparate technologies.

“With so many new teams, departments, and locations coming together post-merger to create what Impact XM is today, we found ourselves with many different technologies and communication services to manage,” explains Allan Hall, IT Manager for Impact XM.

“We wanted a unified platform for as much of our communication as possible—for meetings, for phone calls, for video conferences, even for instant messaging. And we needed a service that would both serve everyone’s needs internally but also help us communicate and collaborate reliably and professionally with clients. RingCentral Office has proven invaluable by rolling all of these functions into one platform that we can manage easily.”

Impact XM solves several problems immediately with new cloud communications platform.

One challenge Hall and his team wanted to resolve was the organisation’s frustration with limited web meeting availability. “We were using a couple of online meeting services. And because they were expensive, we had just a few licences that the team shared,” Hall recalls. “That often meant groups couldn’t schedule conference calls when they needed to, and in some cases that in-process meeting would just end abruptly if someone else started another call.”

“Because RingCentral Meetings is also integrated into our service, we don’t have to pay extra for online meeting licences. So anyone on our team can host large meetings whenever they need.”

RingCentral also helped Impact XM’s tech team reduce their phone costs right away. “We had our own in-house PBX here at headquarters,” says Hall, “and our Canada office had their own. So we were incurring huge long-distance charges just calling internally from office to office, to say nothing of the costs of speaking by phone so often with our clients. RingCentral solved that problem too.”

RingCentral enjoys widespread adoption and company-wide use.

“We’re a very mobile, very tech-oriented company,” Hall says. “Even when our staff is in the building, they’re often not at their desks but running around to conference rooms or impromptu team gatherings, and they always need to be connected and accessible to each other and to our clients. It’s so great to have this service where you can have everything you need on your mobile phone. We have more than 200 smartphones among our staff, and every one of them has the RingCentral app loaded on it.”

Finally, Hall adds this: “Everyone here uses RingCentral tools all the time, for calls and meetings anywhere and also for online collaborating with the RingCentral Glip app, which every department uses like crazy and has earned some huge advocates across our company. I can’t speak highly enough about RingCentral, and I’m not the only one who feels this way.
