Today, we are proud to announce RingCentral is the first global cloud provider to offer fully compliant cloud phone system services in India. RingCentral passed key regulatory certifications by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) India and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), enabling organisations with a presence in India to access cloud phone capabilities to ease communication with employees, customers and everyone in between.
Highlights:
Gartner estimates IT communications services spending in India to reach $24.7B in 2023, and as more global corporations turn to India to grow satellite offices and develop technology hubs, they want fully compliant solutions to ensure business continuity and peace of mind. While noncompliant global cloud telephony solutions are technically available in India, organisations using these services run the risk of audits which can shut services down with little-to-no notice.
After receiving its Unified licence from the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) 18 months ago, RingCentral actively worked on completing the buildout of its domestic infrastructure in India. During this phase, RingCentral worked side-by-side with DOT officials, passed exhaustive government inspections, and cleared stringent security clearances to deliver its world-class telephony services to India – a first among all U.S. cloud telephony providers.
Only RingCentral (with its +20 years of experience and a pioneer in delivering transformative communication innovations) has been able to drive modern cloud communications for businesses of all sizes across every industry and employee type in India.
Customers in India can purchase Global MVP Select phone capabilities. Customers must first have a parent account in the 16 countries where direct sales of RingCentral MVP are available.

With Global MVP Select, billing is handled in local currency, complying with Indian regulations which mandate local-to-local billing in local currency.
“India is a key strategic market for us, and adding this country as our 46th country for global availability of RingCentral MVP is an important milestone,” said Vlad Shmunis, founder, chairman, and CEO of RingCentral. “While other vendors may claim to have a licence in India, RingCentral is the first cloud UC vendor to have the licence and authorisation from the Department of Telecommunications India to operate in India. We’re grateful to the DOT and to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India for their support of this launch.”
RingCentral is excited to support international calling for multinational organisations with a presence in India. Global MVP is currently available in over 46 countries and supports 18 languages, providing the flexibility and global reach that enterprises need. This new offering will facilitate the deployment of cloud solutions for global organizations with a presence in India.
